Herbalife Nutrition At Work Survey Reveals Filipino Millennials Desire Healthy, Active Workplace Environment

Herbalife Nutrition, a global nutrition company, has released the findings from its Asia Pacific Millennials At Work Survey1, which revealed that Filipino millennials are adapting a healthy, active lifestyle, however, most believe their current workplace environment prevents them from doing so.

Millennials, or people born in between 1980 and 2000, are opting for a workplace that will encourage them to stay active, if only this will be embedded in every company culture.  About 83 percent or eight (8) in 10 millennials have agreed that they would like their company workplace to adopt a healthy, active lifestyle.

With the millennial generation expected to make up 50 percent of the global workforce by 2020, ensuring the wellbeing of millennials will be important to improving workplace productivity. “There are about 35 million millennials now in the Philippines, which is about one-third of the country’s entire population. Five years from now, millennials will be dominating the labor force. While most millennials want to lead healthy lives, they face real obstacles at work in doing so,”

said Rosalio Valenzuela, Herbalife Philippines General Manager. “At Herbalife Nutrition, we provide our employees with nutrition products at work, subsidize gym memberships, hold regular wellness programs related to nutrition and well-being, and encourage participation in outdoor activities and sports competitions.”

Additionally, the survey findings revealed the following:

Seven (7) out of 10 millennials strive to live healthy, active lives
However, the majority of millennials find it challenging to maintain an active lifestyle at work – eight (8) out of 10 millennials spend 6 to 13 hours at their work desk each day, and 64% of millennials get less than 30 minutes of physical activity - including standing, stretching and walking at work on an average work day.
Additionally, 64% of millennials cited the “lack of time” as the key obstacle to engaging in physical activity at work.

To provide tips on how millennials and their employers can integrate positive nutrition and life style habits at their workplaces, Herbalife Nutrition has organized a sixth Asia Pacific Wellness Tour, which builds upon the successes of the past five tours that welcomed over 100, 000  participants. Five experts from the Herbalife Nutrition Advisory Board (NAB) are scheduled to tour 21 Asian cities from October 7 to 30, to hold a series of talks, workshops and medical symposia across the region.

“Through these efforts, we hope to equip organizations and employees with the right tools to collectively build a healthier work environment across Asia Pacific,” said Valenzuela.

Julian Alvarez Garcia, M.D., Ph.D., a member of the Herbalife Nutrition Advisory Board, will be visiting Manila for the Asia Pacific Wellness Tour this October. Julian Alvarez Garcia, M.D., Ph.D. will also be sharing expert advice on how millennials can adopt simple positive nutrition and lifestyle habits at work to improve their overall well-being in the long run.

Some of the tips to help foster a healthier millennial workforce include:

Nutrition

o Dedicate a healthy eating day each week and get colleagues involved in making healthy choices for lunch on this day.
o Boost water intake to help the body digest food, rid the body of toxins, and help deliver nutrients to the cells. Drink at least eight (8) glasses or two (2) liters of water a day.
o Have a protein shake combined with non-fat milk and healthy fruit for breakfast. With 20-30 grams of protein and low-fat contents, it can provide the body with all the nutrition it needs to power through the day.

Active Living

o Create a playlist that incorporates upbeat music and play with hourly intervals.
o Use Running Apps to keep energized and on-pace during regular runs.
o Set a goal to join running competitions to motivate self to sustain an active lifestyle.

1Herbalife’s Millennials At Work Survey was conducted in 2016, with 5,500 respondents aged 18 and above, from Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

A visit to Solvang

Home to real authentic Danish pastries, sausages, cookies and wines is a small town in Sta. Barbara county located in Sta Ynez Valley.   Never realized before my visit that the city is more than wine,  wind mills and colorful cookie pops. There is also a food store that caters authentic sausages and serves variety of  beer and wine. You truly will enjoy the country song as you have your  booze,   while listening to feel good music like  the sound it makes with  guitar center portland. Sure there are lots of beautiful places to visit but this town with flower-llined streets will make you feel you're a local in this town, the Danish Capital of America, Solvang.

Getting some Physical at the Mall

Who does not get pumped up with the thought of going to the mall? I will not deny it, malling makes me happy whether I am able to buy something or I just end up window shopping. It relaxes me. It makes me sane and insane at the same time. I do not get to buy stuff all the time when I go to the mall because sometimes, I just cannot afford it. Say, when I visit musical stores, I cannot easily buy. I may be able to afford it but you know, buying instruments needs careful planning. Anyway, malling also helps me physically. Walking around the mall means exercising. So malling helps me hit two birds with one stone.

Lily's Peanut Spread Lite Launch

People are becoming more and more aware of the health value of the things they eat and drink. And by the looks of things, this emphasis on health is becoming more than just a simple fad; health consciousness is here to stay.

Lily’s Peanut Butter, already 60 years in the industry, saw this rise in health consciousness, and has adapted accordingly through the peanut butter that has become a staple of many a Filipino household.

After more than half a century of winning Filipino palates, Newborn Food Products Inc., the maker of Lily’s Peanut Butter, launched its newest product line, Lily’s Peanut Spread Lite, last August 14 at the Lily’s Lite in the City event, held at the Trinoma Activity Center, Quezon City.

The whole-day event, hosted by athlete-turned-celebrity-host Gretchen Ho, actor-model CJ Reyes, and singer-model John Pol Dimaculangan, will feature a variety of fun activities showcasing the health and wellness-oriented direction of the Lily’s brand with the release of this latest product.

Zumba sessions, demonstrations on healthy cooking, game booths, a special performance by Pilipinas’ Got Talent finalists, the Power Impact Dancers, and many more are available to the public, add to that special raffle prizes and high-score awards for people who purchased Lily’s products at the venue.

Lily’s Peanut Spread Lite is the first locally-produced lite peanut butter in the market. This peanut spread is made from real peanuts and stevia extract, without any of the added sugars or chemical ingredients included in many low-fat peanut butter alternatives on the market.

Stevia extract, which is extracted from the leaves of the Stevia Rebaudiana plant, contains naturally-occurring glycosides, which give the substance a distinct sweetness, despite having no sugar content.

This makes it ideal for today’s health-conscious eaters—from weight-watchers and people trying out low-glycemic diets to people suffering from ailments such as diabetes and hypertension—as it delivers the same creamy sweetness that has made Lily’s a favorite, without compromising consumers’ health. Taste and health don’t have to be exclusive of each other; healthy doesn’t need to be boring.

With this latest product line, Lily’s engaged itself to be an advocate of promoting healthy snacks, an advocacy that will continue to manifest in the company’s future projects and events.

As proudly stated by Arch. Ramon Pua, President/CEO of Newborn Food Products, Inc., which carries the Lily’s brand:“We don’t just aim for profit – we share heart! Lily’s Lang Talaga!”

Are you a smart shopper?

You think you're smart enough as a shopper if you  get a product so cheap? You might be getting what is not worth  the price  and sacrifice the quality of it, hence  what you just shopped would just end up  in a trash.  There are wide selections of  product  but you  cannot  just pick  the cheaper ones.  Take quality over quantity.  Stay to your budget and  don't be fooled by too  good to be true deals. If you really want it, wait until it gets on sale. You'd be more lucky as it sometimes goes up to a steal price.   Check reviews or ask  those who already  have it.   You can also  check  the best deal  by  comparing  the price so you can haggle  it  lower  than  what the other store offers.   So if you're looking for   mini pedals for Ibanez,  try  to  be a smart  shopper  and   get the best deal that you want.

Upgrade your Music

Listening to music gives a lot of benefits and this is a claim from scientists  that conduct a research study  that doing so everyday prevents a lot of sickness and stress.   It lifts your spirit and mood and boost your physical health.  When you walk, jog or do anything  with music on, it's not only the physical  that benefits but  mind to release endorphins, the natural feel good hormones that motivates us  to do more.  However, you should also check if you need some upgrade like mcdsp software  to make your sound more enjoyable.

Make Everyday a Special Day

We just celebrated Christmas and New Year's Day.  Some Christmas trees are still up and waiting for Chinese New Year to celebrate the occasion too. But before we even clean up the mess, I say beautiful mess  from holidays  wraps and left overs, we already find ourselves looking for premiertablelinens.com damasks - custom   to prepare for next occasion like Valentine's Day,  Mother's Day,  or  Independence Day.  Occasions are a  good reason to be together with family  so  make the most of  it and  I say, make everyday a special day to celebrate.

Lands End

I never know of this place until we reached Lands End in San Francisco. Not a lot of people visit this spot and is less crowded.  We headed to a museum nearby and  got to know a little history of the  place. I could only imagine Sutro Baths in the 19th century.  Shipwrecks views and wild flowers give a stunning view with the windy trail that  you'd  say, you're definitely at the place where lands end.
